Featured Flowers & Their European Heritage
Each bloom is selected not only for its beauty but also for its deep-rooted connection to European culture and history:
Rose (France & Across Europe) — The undisputed queen of European flowers, symbolising love, passion, honour, and beauty. Adored in French royal gardens, celebrated in poetry, and cherished in nearly every European nation, it remains the most beloved flower across the continent.
Tulip (Netherlands) — The legendary icon of Dutch culture and one of Europe’s most famous springtime symbols. Once the centre of a historic cultural phenomenon, tulips now paint the Netherlands’ landscapes in vibrant hues each year and are loved worldwide.
Lavender (France & Mediterranean) — The soul of Provence and the Mediterranean, with its soothing fragrance and striking violet-blue blooms. It represents purity, calm, and the sun-drenched warmth of southern Europe.
Edelweiss (Swiss & European Alps) — The treasured mountain jewel of the Alps, symbolising courage, purity, and enduring love. Long associated with alpine pride and wilderness, it is one of Europe’s most cherished native wildflowers.
Sunflower (Eastern & Southern Europe) — A symbol of joy, loyalty, and optimism, thriving across the sunny plains of Ukraine, Hungary, Italy, and the Balkans. Its bright golden heads are a beloved sight in European summer landscapes.
Daisy (United Kingdom & Northern Europe) — The humble, cheerful favourite of meadows and gardens across the British Isles, Scandinavia, and beyond. It represents innocence, new beginnings, and simple, gentle beauty.
Lily (Italy, Greece & Southern Europe) — A flower steeped in mythology, religious symbolism, and royal tradition. Revered since ancient Greek and Roman times, it stands for purity, renewal, and elegance.
Poppy (United Kingdom, France & Central Europe) — A vivid wildflower of fields and meadows, deeply meaningful as a symbol of remembrance, peace, and the resilience of nature. It is one of Europe’s most recognisable and emotionally resonant blooms.
