The Netherlands is a country that is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. [8] It is in the west and north by the North Sea, along the eastern border with Germany and Belgium to the south. The capital of the Netherlands is Amsterdam, the seat of government is The Hague. Netherlands, both in the north and west surrounded by the North Sea. In the north, a line of dunes formed by the Wadden Islands, a series of barrier islands behind which is the shallow Wadden Sea. Middle of the country is the IJsselmeer, the former Zuiderzee, a large inland sea that since the completion of the Dam in 1932, the Wadden Sea is closed and since then has fresh water.
