Markelo von Marian Waanders
Markelo (Lower Saxon or Twents: Maarkel) is a Dutch village in Twente, province of Overijssel. It belongs to the municipality of Hof van Twente. The name Markelo means forest ("lo") which indicates a divorce or boundary ("mark"). The landscape around the village is sloping to a height of more than 40 meters.
