Scotland de Rini Kools

Scotland is one of the four constituent countries of the United Kingdom. The main part of it is the northern third of the island of Great Britain. The capital city of Scotland is Edinburgh on the east coast. The biggest city is Glasgow on the west coast. Compared to the other areas of the islands of Great Britain and Ireland, Scotland is sparsely populated, most especially the north-western half of it. The main geographical feature that dictates this is the Highland Boundary Fault which roughly splits the country in half from the southwest to the northeast. To the north and west of the Highland Boundary Fault are the more mountainous Scottish Highlands and islands. and this half of the country contains less than 5% of the total population. We have been to Scotland many times and travelled extensively across the country, and usually concentrated on the Highlands and islands. For obvious reasons, because this is where you will find unforgettable scenery, birdlife and Scotch whisky, of course.
